The Former Day Centre site is a great site for extra care housing for older people, and has been selected specifically. The site will provide around 50 new homes in a mix of 1- and 2-bed flats, including wheelchair-accessible homes.

The accommodation has been set back from the roads enabling residents to have ready access to safe external space including gardens landscaped specifically to address the needs of older people.

The design focuses on ensuring residents have sufficient space, both private and communal, and key to this have been considerations around accessibility.

The accommodation has been designed to ensure residents can remain in their homes as they age and/or their needs change.

Below are some concept images of how the buildings might look. You can click through the images using the arrows on each side.
